Cycling

Machalilla National Park stretches from the shore to the mountains and boasts an impressive biodiversity of plants and animals, as well as both dry and humid forests. The varied topography makes it an ideal location to take a cycling tour, no matter what your level of ability.

We have various levels of difficulty (low, medium, high) and can customize a cycling tour to fit your needs.

Diving

Twenty five percent (25%) of Machalilla National Park is a large marine area that is influenced by the Humboldt Current and boasts no less than 20 diving sites. These sites are home to coral formations and a large variety of marine species, including tropical fish, manta rays, turtles, various crustaceans, and whales.

We offer diving courses at various levels, as well as PADI and SSCI certifications that come with an international level license. We also offer discovery scuba diving for beginners who just want a taste of what diving is like. Of course, all of our diving personnel are fully licensed.

We are a certified company with all the permits required to dive within the limits of the Machalilla National Park.

This tour takes place on a 5 km (3 miles) stretch of beach that also includes a short hilly segment and lasts approximately 3.5 hours.

Los Frailes Beach and Agua Blanca

Los Frailes (The Friars) is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador and lies within the Machalilla National Park. It is a series of three beaches in a crescent shape with cliffs on each side and beautiful clear water.

Agua Blanca is a privileged community also within the borders of the park that claims the status of the last Indian capital. There is an interesting archaeological museum with artifacts from pre-Incan times and a sulphur pool that many believe has healing properties.

Paragliding

This tour can be done in either Puerto Lopez or Montañita. The flight duration is about 20 minutes.

Plata Island

Plata Island (Silver Island) is a smaller version of the Galapagos located within Machalilla National Park. Here you will encounter many of the same birds species found on the Galapagos, such as the blue-footed booby, red-footed booby, Nazca booby, frigatebird, and occasionally albatross. A coral reef encircles the island and hosts a wide variety of marine species, including manta rays, tropical fishes, and turtles. The island itself boasts a beautiful landscape and the perfect environment to explore and watch the wildlife in their natural habitat.

Upon arriving, you will take a 2 hour guided walk to explore the island and see the birds before returning to the boat for lunch and a short rest. After lunch you will have the opportunity to snorkel (about 1 hour) where you can observe the coral reef and its various inhabitants, such as fish and turtles.
